Well, once again, it's been a busy one!!  We kicked off wedding season last Saturday with a fantastic wedding over in Bloxwich (Congratulations Mandy and Gaz!).  It was a great start to this years Midlands wedding gigs with people on the dancefloor from our opening track right up to the end....Even a crowd banging on the edge of the stage when we'd finished insisting for an encore!!  Great to see and who were we to disappoint eh!  :0)

So this weekend brings us another couple of special nights - A new venue for us (The Spinning Wheel) and a wedding for Paul and Louise (who booked us after we played at Paul's cousins wedding a while back)!  We're really looking forward to it!

Those of you who've been attending the residency gigs at the Ceol Castle will have noticed that we've had a bit of a line-up change recently too.  Our bassist; Nick has decided to leave for personal reasons and we've been busy over the last couple of months trying to find a suitable replacement.  Well....we've been blessed!  We're happy to welcome our TWO new bass players to the Second City Soul family; Mike Green is going to be our permanent bassist and for deps, we're pleased to have Brian Redding on board.  Both are excellent bass players and all round top blokes!!  Come and meet them at a gig soon!!

Firstly, we need to pass on our congratulations to our former Drummer; Tim and his wife Karen on the birth of their second son at the end of February!!  Well done to Tim for delivering him too!

Well....the band have been busy over the last month....

Not only have wedding bookings and enquries been coming in thick and fast, we performed at our first Showcase on Thursday 10th March at the Greenlands Select Social.  We had a fantastic night, met some really great people!!  We were pleased to receive a confirmed booking before we'd even finished packing down for the night too!

So, keep your eyes peeled on the gig page for updates and don't forget to recommend us if you know anyone booking a wedding or a function - Pass on our details!!

Well....It's been a while since we've updated our news and LOTS of things have been happening!!!

We're pleased to confirm our third year of residency at Molloy's Ceol Castle in Birmingham, we've been receiving lots of wedding enquries and bookings and already have a booking for 2012!!!    We'll be showcasing for Social Clubs next month and we're also looking at working with more agencies this year - we have already signed up with Integrity Music Agency based in Coventry!!

So don't forget, if you know someone planning a function,  looking for a wedding band or party band, point them in the direction of Second City Soul!!!

So....it's been a whle since we last updated our news and we've had lots going on!!

We've played at quite a few fantastic weddings recently where the guests have not stopped dancing and singing along with us - We're loving it!!  We've had bookings confirmed for 2011 and are already receiving enquiries for 2012 which is brilliant news!

We're now working on the next batch of songs and have quite a few treats in store for those of you who come to see us regularly at the Ceol Castle!!

...and the results are fantastic.  Steve Gerrard; who is based at the Custard Factory in Brum, has worked his magic on the like's of Kiss, U2, Elton John, Jay Z and Lenny Kravitz so we asked if he was available and booked him up. The results are sensational and it's very hard for us to pic (get it....pic?!) a favourite but have a look in our gallery and see for yourself.

Various band members are now looking forward to getting some family photos taken by Steve and we are hoping to get some live band shots taken in the coming months too. After spending time in his studio we can all say that his wedding and family pictures are nothing short of jaw dropping.  So if your planning a wedding or any other function that you want fantastic memories from, why not try booking Steve and Second City Soul!

We have our fantastic new PA now thanks to our friends at Reverb in Birmingham who have sorted us out a great Allen and Heath mixer and KX Audio cabs. These guys get the Second City Soul seal of approval for being amazingly helpful and full of knowledge. We've already tried out our new gear out at the Cadbury Club and the sound was amazing!!

We're pleased to announce that we'll be playing at The Cadbury Club in Bournville on 21st November!!  This will be our first gig at this lovely venue so we hope you can come and show your support.  Tickets are £5 and are available from The Cadbury Club.  Further details can be found here.
